What better way to mark a major milestone?

Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th birthday today, and the royal family has released a lovely series of family portraits by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz in honor of the occasion.

One photo shows the matriarch posing with her daughter Princess Anne, while another shows her enjoying time on the private grounds of Windsor Castle in the company of four of her beloved dogs. It's the third portrait, though, that has simply stolen our hearts.

The image shows the Queen sitting in the Castle's ornately decorated Green Drawing Room, surrounded by her five great-grandchildren and her two youngest grandchildren.

Just gorgeous!

So who is this adorable bunch? From the bottom left: Mia Tindall, 2, daughter of Zara and Mike Tindall; James, Viscount Severn, 8, and Lady Louise, 12, the children of The Earl and Countess of Wessex, Savannah, 5, and Isla Phillips, 3, daughters Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn; Prince George, 2 and, his sister Princess Charlotte, 11 months, children of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

It's hard to single out a favorite part of this multi-generational snapshot, but little Mia Tindall clutching her "Gan-Gan's" hand bag is pretty priceless.

A source close to the royal family reveals that was an entirely spontaneous moment: “It was not staged at all. She just picked up her great-granny’s handbag and that was it.”

Not only is the photo incredibly sweet, it also represents something of a miracle: How did Annie Leibovitz manage to get all seven of those kids to settle down and smile for the camera? Nobody's throwing a tantrum, nobody's making a face, nobody's in the midst of blinking. I need to know her secret, because I only have two children and it's almost impossible to get a decent photo of them!

Happy birthday to the Queen. She makes 90 look pretty good, doesn't she?
