Fans of Janet Jackson are disappointed to hear her tour has once again been postponed, but it sounds like there may be some very joyous news to celebrate. The singer announced Wednesday that she and husband Wissam Al Mana are planning a family!

Explaining why the Unbreakable World Tour schedule is changing via video message, the 49-year-old said:

"We're in the second leg of the tour and there actually has been a sudden change. I thought it was important that you would be the first to know my husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can try to understand that it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can."

In January the singer also took to Twitter to confirm she'd had surgery, but also to address erroneous reports about her health.

"Remember...believe it when you hear it from my lips. The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering," she wrote as new of the tour's first delay spread. "My doctors have approved my concert as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love."

While it certainly sounds as though Janet Jackson is going to become a mom, there aren't too many details just yet on what avenue she'll be adding to her family by. Although I initially imagined she might be welcoming a child via surrogate or adoption, the bit about the doctor insisting she "rest up" made me think twice. Perhaps she and Wissam are trying to conceive?

It's hard to ever tell truth from gossip in the celebrity world, however. In 2013 a loose-lipped source said the couple were quietly seeking to adopt.

"She now pretty much knows pregnancy is not in the cards, so she's been looking into adopting," the source told Us Weekly. "She's been very moved by the events in Jordan and Syria now that she's been living overseas. Not sure how soon it will happen, but there's been movement on this."

No matter which avenue she was referring to, we wish Janet and Wissam the best on starting their family!
