posted in CelebritiesGwyneth Paltrow's latest Goop newsletter is out, and this time the star's team is touting presents starting from $8 for their 2015 gift guide -- but the prices dramatically rise from there.
From pricey to just plain ridiculous, a peek at just a few of the out-there items suggested for your year-end shopping list...
A pair of White + Warren ballet slippers, $135. "Is there anything more luxurious?"
Selenite Fireplace Logs, $330. "These crystal logs look even better than the real thing."
For baby, an Oeuf Animal Hoodie, $164.
For game night, a Hermes Mah-Jong Set, $46,0000. "There's a waiting list."
In the hygiene department, a Devi Steamer Seat, $55, for "V-steams to go."
For the curious, the instructions read: Our simple Devi Steam Seat™ can simply be placed over a clean, food-grade 5 gallon bucket with a food-grade stainless steel or glass bowl containing your yoni steaming herbs and hot water placed carefully in the bottom. The underside of the seat is reinforced with notches for safety and stability. With the seat placed securely on the bucket, sit as you normally would in a chair while you steam. When you're finished, slip the seat away anywhere for storage (it's only about an inch thick!)."
As well as a "better than a Chip-Clip" toothpaste squeezer, $244.
And let's not forget, Post-Poo Drops, described in the "Dudes" section as "an essential" at $29.
Please note, "After vigorous activity has occurred in the bathroom, Post-Poo Drop’s crisp citrus peel notes– fortified with rich floral elements – effectively neutralise disagreeable smells."
As if all sh-- don't don't equally stink. Harrumph.
Lastly in the bathroom department, "the gold-standard of toilet paper -- for the friend who truly has it all," $956.
But perhaps most fun of all (and proving Gwyneth Paltrow's sense of humor is alive and well), Goop suggests a "Consciously Uncoupled" key tag, for $15, so you can "wear your heart on your keys."
To give the Goop team a little credit, there are a large number of gift selections under $50 this year, but I still have to chuckle and roll my eyes at most of the other suggestions -- but I think that's part of the fun. As best I can tell, Gwyneth and Goop seem to be on board with having a bit of a laugh with their notorious picks as well.
