Just two days after welcoming their little princess, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge put all of those rampant rumors to rest, revealing their baby name pick.
The big news was shared by Kensington Palace today, which took to Twitter to share the baby name announcement. Drumroll, please...
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

Her official title will be Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.
Kate and William's baby name pick walks the perfect line between tradition and sentiment: Charlotte carries royal credentials, but is also a nod to the baby's grandfather Prince Charles. It's Kate's sister Pippa's middle name, too.
As for the princess' middle names - she has two, like her big brother Prince George Alexander Louis - Elizabeth has a long royal history and is the name of William's grandmother. Diana, of course, is in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana.
It's also somewhat of a favorite among non-royals. According to BabyCenter's annual ranking, Charlotte, which means "petite" and "feminine, has held a spot in the top 10 list of baby names for girls in recent years.
BabyCenter's experts suspect the name Charlotte may see a dip in popularity in the year ahead, though.
"It's a lovely name but we're expecting to see fewer babies being called Charlotte in the coming months. Parents don't want to be labelled as having been influenced by others in their baby name choice, particularly by such a high-profile family," says Sasha Miller, International Managing Editor of BabyCentre. "That was a pattern we saw very clearly after the birth of Charlotte’s older brother in 2013; the name George quickly dipped in popularity in BabyCentre’s naming charts. New parents who had been thinking of naming their baby Charlotte, may well now be thinking again."
I think the Duke and Duchess made a wonderful choice, picking names that meet the royal standard but that also hold very personal meaning.
