The Duchess of Cambridge put in her first official public appearance since welcoming daughter Charlotte today, attending the annual Trooping the Colour celebration in London with the rest of the royal family. The event was held to mark Queen Elizabeth's 89th birthday, but not even the esteemed guest of honor could steal the spotlight from Kate and William's son George.

Prince George, who turns 2 next month, joined his famous family - including Prince Charles, Prince Harry, Prince Philip and Prince Andrew and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall - on the balcony of Buckingham Palace today. The little royal seemed right at home, waving to the waiting crowds and excitedly pointing out airplanes as they passed overhead.

Here are some adorable pictures from today...

Could he be any cuter?

If you're wondering where to pick up George's lace-trimmed blue romper, you're probably out of luck. Kensington Palace revealed the outfit is something of a family heirloom - in fact, it's the very same suit Prince William wore for the Queen's birthday festivities back in 1984. Take a look:

Mom Kate also turned heads in her first post-baby outing, looking lovely in a blue Catherine Walker coat coat and extravagant white hat by Lock & Co.

Of course, one member of the royal family was quite noticeably absent from the happy gathering: Princess Charlotte!

The 6-week-old skipped today's big event, but we did recently get a glimpse of William and Kate's adorable new arrival. Just last week Kensington Palace released this sweet series of shots of Charlotte and big brother George - snapped by their mom Kate.
