posted in Celebrities"I hate being pregnant," Kim Kardashian admits quite frankly. And with the complications she's endured, it's easy to see why going through a third pregnancy is a daunting idea.
Opening up about 6-month-old son Saint's birth, the wife of Kanye West tells People "it took about two hours to get my placenta out."
Elaborating about placenta accreta, which is when the placenta becomes embedded too deeply in the uterine wall, she added, "My cervix was closed and the doctor had to break through my cervix with his hand. They thought they were going to have to remove my uterus. I knew it was a possibility, but [luckily] we worked it out."
Did anyone else just completely cringe at the "the doctor had to break through my cervix with his hand" part? I can't even imagine what that must have felt like!
Kim Kardashian says immediately after Saint was born she told Kanye, "Remind me of this moment! Never again."
However, the 35-year-old has since gotten a bit of that magical forgetfulness many moms experience that convince us to do it all over again.
"After about four months, I was like, I can breathe again. I can maybe have another one," she shared. Though there will be risks for her, she says, "I could definitely have one more."
I certainly wish the best to Kim and Kanye if they go for baby three, because it sounds like her complications are no joke.
Personally, I secretly enjoyed the anticipation and challenge of giving birth. It's hard -- make no mistake of what I'm saying -- but it can also be empowering to have made it through. I'd be open to giving birth again before signing up for another long pregnancy. Obviously it doesn't work that way, so I won't get the chance (and let's not forget I've maxed out my sanity already with just two kids).
Still, it's interesting to hear which parts of the experience people would and wouldn't be willing to do again.
