Less than a year into motherhood, singer Carrie Underwood is no stranger to "mom guilt." In a new interview with PEOPLE, the Grammy-winner admits that, like so many mothers, she's sometimes plagued by it.

“You feel guilty about every single thing, every decision you make, everything you do,” Carrie, who has 7-month-old son Isaiah Michael with her husband Mike Fisher, reveals.

She cites breastfeeding as one area where she's really struggled, but says, "I'm doing the best that I can, you know?"

Revealing that she plans to stick with nursing for "as long as I can take it," the 32-year-old says, "It’s hard. My supply is pretty nil. We have to supplement with formula."

Married for 5 years now, Carrie and Mike, who plays for the NHL's Nashville Predators, are still going strong. Seeing other high profile couples - like country stars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert - call in quits reminds them to take stock of their own relationship.

“I feel like Mike and I treat it like a partnership, which is a really good thing for both of us,” Carrie says. “I’m not the maid and I’m not the cook, you know what I mean? I do those things when I do them because I like to and I want to. You just figure out your roles and the things that each of you do better, and you give and take.”

So far, life hasn't turned out quite as she'd expected - but it sounds like that's a good thing.

"I never dreamt of my wedding day and the perfect guy,” Carrie recalls. "Then I met Mike, and I was like, 'Wow, so now I know what I was missing.' And the same with my son. I was never like, 'I want kids so bad.' And now that I have Isaiah in my life, I’m like, 'What did I do before?'"

What did I do before I had kids? I think every mom has wondered that from time to time!
