posted in CelebritiesAntonio Cromartie and wife Terricka's big family is about to grow again, despite the football star having undergone a vasectomy. The pair got the shock of their lives last October, when the reality star went to the doctor with what she thought was bad cramps and found out she's pregnant with twins!
"I really thought I was dreaming, even after, I was just in total disbelief," the former Candy Girls star explained to Us Weekly.
"I didn’t even tell Antonio right away because I didn’t think it was possible," she continued. "I was going back and forth in my head how it could even happen. In my head we were good to go, we were having free sex! I just really thought that his procedure was the best protection you could have at this point."
Terricka went on to share Antonio initially "was like, 'Oh, s--t! Are you serious? How did this happen?' It was shocking news for the both of us. It took me a while to process it, but Antonio stood firm and was saying, 'It’s God’s will.' And he’s been excited the whole time."
Antonio and Terricka wed in 2008 and are parents to daughter Jurzie, 5, and son Jagger, 3. The New York Jets player also has eight other children from previous relationships -- a fact that has made this pregnant mom reluctant to talk about their twins with the world.
"To be honest, I’ve gone back and forth about if I wanted to share the news or not," she explained. "All my children are blessings and all of Antonio’s children are blessings, for that matter. It was made to seem that my children weren’t a blessing because they were categorized by a number, and for that reason and that reason alone, I hid both of my [first two] pregnancies with my husband, just so I could enjoy them with those who were really happy for me."
I can only imagine the emotional roller coaster these two have been through, and count myself lucky not to have ended up in their shoes. The truth is my husband and I are among the many foolish people who went the vasectomy route and then failed to follow all the way through with getting the all-clear sign. So bad!
He went for the first test to make sure the procedure was successful, but then never got around to the doctor-advised second test. I worried at first that somehow a little swimmer would make it through, but it's been close to eight years at this point and there's been no surprise pregnancies for us.
Reading the Cromartie's story today I find myself mightily curious about whether or not Antonio followed through with his post-procedure tests!
