Poor Mila Kunis turned white! We've been, done that too

Mila Kunis is learning the hard way that one moment you can be on the top of your parenting game and the next you're as pale as a ghost, aghast at the mistake you've made.

The mother of Wyatt, who is currently expecting her second child with husband Ashton Kutcher, recently opened up about her major mishap -- and I'm sorry to say it's a moment I know all too well.

Explaining the effort it takes just to get out the door, the actress said, "You have to pack all this stuff up in anticipation of everything going horribly wrong with the first baby. And I was like, ‘I did it.’ I put her in the car. Like, I high-five myself. [As] I’m driving down the 101, I was like 'Oh my God, I’m doing really good today.'"

But just after the sense of accomplishment washed over Mila Kunis, dread followed.

Speaking of looking in the mirror at Wyatt as she drove down the highway, Mila continued: "She was being really quiet, and I was like, ‘Oh, let me look in the rearview mirror to make sure everything’s okay.' And I look, and she’s happy as can be, but just not nearly strapped in."

That's right -- this first-time-mom packed the diapers, the wipes, the changes of clothes, the rash cream and the baby food, but somehow at the very last moment forgot the buckle.

"I was like, oh, f--k me," the pregnant star recalled. "And I’m on the 101, and she’s just like blah, like fine in her car seat, nothing, no strap whatsoever. And I think I just turned white."

Yikes. My heart goes out to her! I, too, have done the exact same thing.

In my case it was putting toddler into his seat, realizing baby has spit out his binky across the car, reaching for the binky and replacing it -- and completely forgetting to go back to buckling toddler in. It's enough to make your heart flip-flop.

Along with my own confession, Mila saw firsthand she isn't the only one who has had a major parenting mistake when her husband, Ashton, later did the very same thing.

“Lo and behold,” she went on to share, “A year later, like two, three weeks ago, a month ago, I came to get Wyatt out of the backseat of the car, and my husband [had] put her in. And so, I went in to get her out … I opened the car door, and she’s not strapped in whatsoever. And I was like thank God … I wasn’t alone.”

Sweet goodness, we're all most definitely not alone!

Although my car seat mishap was the worst I can recall committing, I also know the story of the time I, as a baby, was sitting on the kitchen floor while my mom unpacked groceries. One minute we're all fine and dandy, and the next there's a frozen can of juice falling on my soft spot. If you've ever, at any point, wondered what's wrong with me, there you go -- mystery solved.

Your turn! What's your been-there, done-that parenting mistake?
