"Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks. We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months.
We're together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes. I'd especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they've done. Gx"
Gordon Ramsay and Tana are parents to four children, and were expecting baby five 14 years after last going through the experience. Their older children are Megan Ramsay, 17, twins Jack Ramsay and Holly Ramsay, 16, and Matilda Ramsay, 14.
While the devastated father described their loss as a miscarriage, it's possible it may have been a stillbirth. The BabyCenter experts explain, "When a baby dies in utero at 20 weeks of pregnancy or later, it's called a stillbirth. (When a pregnancy is lost before 20 weeks, it's called a miscarriage.)"
In either case, our hearts go out to the entire family as they grieve. It must be jarring to go through the roller coaster of expecting a fifth child so many years after having their last child, to having all those plans for the future stripped away.
