Kate Hudson is quickly learning that being mom to a tween keeps a person on their toes. Despite being known as a go-with-the-flow kind of actress, this mom of two does have one firm dating rule her two sons must follow.

“They can’t have two girlfriends at once. I will not handle it," the mother of 12-year-old Ryder (born during Kate's marriage to Chris Robinson) and 4-year-old Bingham (born during the star's four-year relationship with Matt Bellamy) recently told News.com.au. "I will not have boys who don’t tell the truth to their girlfriends. That’s it, that’s my one rule."

The 36-year-old went on to share, "Ryder and I are talking about that now. He’s 12 and he had sex education lessons in school last year, which was so crazy. So I got a lot of questions last year. You know, I just want honest kids.

"But in general, I don’t feel that I need to tell them anything unless they ask, of course. But Ryder is the one telling me all kinds of stuff these days."

Kate Hudson dating

Despite having a son in the throes of puberty, Kate Hudson insists, "I'm very comfortable naked."

"I think most dancers are comfortable not wearing a lot of clothing," the daughter of Goldie Hawn added. On a recent talk show she explained, "My mom was a dancer and I used to say to her when I was growing up, 'Mom, cover yourself!'"

"Yes, our family is that family," she continued with a laugh. "We were all like that growing up, and being raised in an all-boy family, there was a lot of freeballing in our household."

Cough.

I'm among the set of our bloggers who aren't sure whether or not we are proud to know what "freeballing" means, but certainly not everyone does. For those not in the know, I believe I can politely describe it as a term for when males go without underwear. (Is Kate talking with or without shorts/pants though? Hmmm.)

I have to say I cracked up reading Kate Hudson's quote, but I also had to shake my head a bit. Even though I've never been afraid to change in front of my sons, I can't quite imagine being in that free of a household. Not saying there's anything wrong with it per se, but I guess if you haven't grown up around that level of nudity it's a bit daunting to consider.

How nude was your family while growing up? Does your family as an adult follow along the same lines?

It isn't Kate Hudson's kids who are thinking of dating. After splitting from Bing's father she's back in the pool! Check out what she and more stars have said about dating after divorce:
