Sophie B. Hawkins has officially become the mom of two! At age 50 the songstress has given birth to her second child, and opted to give her what most would consider to be an old-fashioned baby name.

Reporting the arrival of the little girl, People announced Friday that Esther Ballantine Hawkins was born at New York Presbyterian Hospital, weighing 8 lbs. Interestingly, little Esther made her way into the world at the very same location her mother was born five decades prior!

The woman who first became a mom in 2008 when she welcomed a son commented to Us Weekly, "Dashiell and I are ecstatic to finally be with our beautiful girl. Our family is now complete!"

Sophie B. Hawkins previously opened up about her pregnancy by telling the news site, "Being 50 is actually an amazing age to have a second child because I am more wise, calm, humorous, appreciative, simple and clear. I'm not running around looking for love and validation. I live each day full of gratitude, and that's good for my children."

She also made it clear that Dashiell was a big reason she decided to use one of the eggs she had frozen at age 31.

“I found Dashiell really needs a sibling,” she told People in February when news of her pregnancy was made public. “My son has one parent who’s 50. I want him to have a family of young people too!”

Now, if you're like me you don't automatically associate the name Esther with young people, but it does seem as though everything old is becoming new again. I have always loved the name Vera and would love to see it make a come back as well, not to mention Velma and Odette.

Congratulations to Sophie on the birth of her baby girl!
