posted in CelebritiesCate Blanchett is hereby banned from making her kids' Halloween costumes any longer, by order of political correctness.
The actress, who recently became the mother of four with the adoption of a daughter, has opened up about the time she got pressured into making a handmade costume -- which turned out to be a disaster.
“I can’t sew,” the 46-year-old confessed to Jimmy Kimmel before recalling the mishap. “[My kids' school] did a pageant parade and … because they go to Montessori school, every mother can sew except me. I got a pillow case, I dressed him, I told him he was a ghost. But he looked like he was from the Ku Klux Klan.”
Oh, my.
Seems like there's rarely a dull moment in the house Cate Blanchett shares with husband Andrew Upton.
Opening up about the unusual inspiration choosing the name Ignatius for their third son, now 7, she shared, “Dash, I guess came from Dashiell Hammot, and Roman … Polanski, but it’s also the French word for book, and Ignatius came from this book called Captain Underpants.”
She went on to explain:
“I was eight months pregnant and hallucinating, and there’s a section in the book where he gets so upset that everyone teases him because his name is Professor Pee-Pee Poopypants that he forces the world to change their names. They have this interior code, and they give these examples of names. You go down to ‘I’ and the example is Ignatius. It was like the Virgin Mary going ‘Boom’.”
No word yet on how baby Edith Vivian Patricia Upton got her moniker.
