Pink: Body-shaming bullies "have gotten it wrong"

Pink has a message for all the body-shaming bullies out there: She really doesn't care what they think about her.

The "True Love" singer took to Twitter last month to issue an epic response to those who criticized her appearance at a recent red carpet event, writing, "I’m not worried about me. And I’m not worried about you either. I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off."

Stepping out again with her husband Carey Hart at last night's 63rd Annual BMI Pop Music Awards in Los Angeles, Pink, who is mom to 3-year-old daughter Willow, explained why she felt the need to fire back.

"I think people have gotten it wrong. They think their opinion matters and holds weight and I don't know where or why they're giving themselves so much credit you know?" she says. "So I thought it was important for me to remind them that I don't care. My life is full, I like food a lot and I really like to cook, I like to live, I find joy in that and were doing alright in the Hart household."

The 35-year-old may not be losing any sleep over the cruel comments, she revealed that it's sometimes hard to turn a blind eye completely: “I am a girl, I have feelings and people think I take no s**t and I’m tough, tougher than nails, but I’m a human being."

Perhaps that's why Pink flat-out refuses to be a bystander to bullying - whether or not she happens to be the target.

“I don’t take well to bullying,” she tells Entertainment Tonight. "I never have. I’m not a person that will be bullied. I’m not a person that will stand by watching other people bullied.”

I love her response. Bullying is a serious issue and it extends far beyond the school yard. I think that Pink sets a great example by standing up and reminding her anonymous, online critics that their cruel words may reach her, but they certainly don't define her.

What do you think of what Pink has to say?
