With baby #2 on the way, actress Alyssa Milano and her husband Dave Bugliari decided they wanted to find out the gender in advance. When they got the big news - it's a girl! - the 'Mistresses' star wasn't surprised at all.

Alyssa, whose son Milo turns 3 in August, tells Fit Pregnancy magazine how she knew she had a daughter on the way, explaining, “I had morning sickness this time, but it went away right at 12 weeks. With Milo, I didn’t have a minute of morning sickness. So I knew it was going to be a girl.”

She gained 55 pounds during her first pregnancy, but Alyssa couldn't tell you how much baby weight she's carrying so far this time around - because she doesn't even know! The stunning star says she refuses to track the pregnancy pounds.

“We don’t get hungry when we’re pregnant for no reason,” she reasons. “You’re making a skeletal system. You’re making organs. I refuse to look at the scale. I didn’t look at the scale with Milo until the day I gave birth. It’s funny, my file was open at my appointment yesterday and there was a big Post-it note that said, ‘She does not want to know her weight.'”

The former child star says that the experience of pregnancy has taught her some important lessons - ones that she will eventually be able to pass on to her own daughter.

“A female body is not made to look good in a bikini. It’s made to give birth and have a baby and be a cozy companion for it afterward. And for my body, that meant putting on a lot of weight. I didn’t indulge in fast food or junk food, so I knew it was a healthy weight. I just realized: This is what my body needs to do to have a healthy baby.”

Alyssa's healthy body image conviction was sadly put to the test last year when comedian Jay Mohr publicly poked fun at her post-pregnancy curves during a radio interview. The soon-to-be mom-of-two took to Twitter to issue a classy and memorable response, writing, "So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife."

Well said! As for predicting she was having a girl, I definitely lack those powers of maternal insight. I could have sworn I was having a boy the first time around. Talk about a delivery room surprise!
