India Rose Hemsworth, the daughter of acting duo Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky, recently noticed her twin brothers have a little something she doesn't. Naturally, the 4-year-old found the disparity to be unfair, and asked for her father's help in rectifying the situation.

While out promoting The Huntsman: Winter's War, the 32-year-old star opened up to Ellen DeGeneres about an unusual conversation he recently had with his firstborn.

After noting that his movie involves being "rescued by these very powerful women," and sharing how he wants India to grow up in a world "where [women are] in charge of their own destiny and they’re not waiting for the prince to rescue them," the father of three noted there's some jealousy going on at home.

"My daughter’s kind of envious of my [two-year-old twin] boys at the moment," Chris explained. "She came to me the other day and said, 'Papa, I want one of those things that Sasha and Tristan have... the things in between their legs."

Chris Hemsworth stumbled a bit while trying to decide to how to handle such a comment. Initially he told his daughter, "girls have breasts," but she interjected, "I don’t want breasts!... I really want one... I want a penis!"

So what's a dad to do?

Chris explained he decided not to insist on the logistics of changing a body. He explained, "...I was like, 'You know what? You can be whatever you want to be.'"

Judging by India's response, her father found the perfect words.

"And she goes, 'Thanks, Dad!' Runs off to the playground and that was it," he added.

Isn't that sweet how the little girl was perfectly satisfied by her dad's response? It's like she made a mental note to put "penis" on next week's shopping list with full confidence it'll get done.

I have to say I'd probably have tried too hard to explain things to my kids if they'd said the same when they were young. Gone all into biology and human anatomy, then launched into a spiel about what transgender means. Important stuff, don't get me wrong, but Chris' little anecdote is a nice reminder that sometimes keeping it simple works too.

What would you say to your son or daughter if they asked for the other sex's genitals?
