The actress, who is currently expecting a second son with husband Josh Dallas, has opened up about both her pregnancy and taking their 20-month-old along with traveling.
"Someone just told me that being pregnant is like, you put your body through what it is to run a marathon every day," the 37-year-old told Us Weekly while appearing at the Zootopia premiere with her husband. “That made me feel a little better about being winded while chasing a 2-year-old around!"
And speaking of Josh, Ginnifer reports he "does at least 50 percent of all the parenting, and I really don't know how people do it when they don’t have a partner who’s not supportive. It's so hard. It's beautiful. But it’s hard!"
Suddenly I have to admit I don't think I've ever really thought about the kind of judging babies and kids get based solely on their youth. It's really not fair, is it?
I, too, had a pretty cool kid as a first-time mom, and though we never flew anywhere I did sometimes get looks from strangers while walking into a waiting room or sitting down at a restaurant. Regularly though, I would later be told by the eye rollers or the staff how well behaved my son had been. I sort of blew it off at the time thinking they were just being nice, but in hindsight I think his good behavior had truly exceeded their low expectations.
For the record, baby two knocked any thought I was especially good at this mom thing right out of me, but I still agree with Ginnifer that there are some really cool kids out there who don't deserve the reputation all kids seem to get.
