Hayden Panettiere isn't just a new mom in real life, she also plays one on TV in Nashville. When it came time for her character, Juliette, to struggle with postpartum depression the actress was able to draw on her own experiences for the role.

“I can very much relate. It’s something a lot of women experience," the 26-year-old, who welcomed daughter Kaya last December, shared during a Monday appearance on Live! with Kelly and Michael.

"When [you’re told] about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child’ — I’ve never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal."

Hayden went on to say, “There’s a lot of misunderstanding — there’s a lot of people out there that think that it’s not real, that it’s not true, that it’s something that’s made up in their minds, that ‘Oh, it’s hormones.’ They brush it off. It’s something that’s completely uncontrollable. It’s really painful and it’s really scary and women need a lot of support.”

Kaya's mom is particularly thankful to have had the support of future husband Wladimir Klitschko -- who it's safe to say was thrilled by Hayden's pregnancy.

Sharing she wishes he could "figure out a way to get pregnant," she added that he would "absolutely" go through with it.

Recalling the unique way the professional boxer discovered to feel their daughter kick while in the womb this celebrity mom shared:

"When I was pregnant, he would do this thing where he would suck in his stomach and then I would put my stomach to his so that he could feel when she was moving, almost like she was in his stomach. He wanted to feel what it was like to have a baby as close to him as it was to me."

Isn't that wild? I've never even heard of parents-to-be doing such a thing before!

My husband had the best luck feeling our sons move in my belly while laying in bed spooning. It was there, with his arm draped over me for a period of time, that he was able to get a sense of the jabs and rolls baby can do. Trying to grab his hand while we were out and about right as the movement was happening never seemed to work out for us. Too bad we never thought of this other way -- I guess?
