Alyssa Milano may just breastfeed until Elizabella is 6

Alyssa Milano couldn't help but notice something a little funny and a little infuriating at the MTV VMAs. When it came time to talk to reporters the mother of two took the opportunity to point out all the skin that was on display, and question why her breastfeeding photos are treated differently.

Speaking of nearly nude show host Miley Cyrus the actress told Entertainment Tonight, "Everyone’s fine with her nipples being out, but if I post a picture of me breastfeeding it’s like, you know, craziness."

Alyssa Milano, whose daughter Elizabella just celebrated her first birthday, went on to share, "I think people are more comfortable sexualizing breasts than relating them to what they were made for, which is feeding another human."

"It’s crazy, but you know what I don’t care. I’m going to keep breastfeeding maybe even until she’s six."

Alyssa Milano isn't the only one who had a few questions about barely-there attire at the VMAs.

Speaking of her 4-year-old son Milo she told Fox411, "As a mom I would so love to have an award ceremony like the VMAs to watch with my kids because my son, who is 4, loves music so much, but obviously I don’t feel comfortable. We saw a little of it because my husband was watching it for work purposes, my son says ‘Why are there so many holes in [Miley Cyrus'] outfit?’ which I thought was amazing."

Since we don't have many television channels neither my sons or I watched this year's VMAs, but I've seen my boys react to outfits that push the boundaries before. Although I don't consider myself to be much of a prude they seem to think I'm pretty conservative. I recall one time my eldest saw a photo of an outfit like Miley wore, which made his eyes bulge a bit and the words, "That's not appropriate," come out of his mouth. Funny how my kids seem more bothered by it than I even am.

Zelda Williams on sadness & hope one year after father's passing

Just over a year since the shocking death of Robin Williams, the actor's daughter, Zelda Williams, is opening up about how she's continuing to cope.

Posting to Instagram over the weekend, the 26-year-old shared a photo of the moon rising over a beautiful lake and wrote:

"Moonrise on the lake. I spent this night shivering and laughing under a clear, cold sky full of stars with people I love just to witness something beautiful. We mooned the moon and laughed ourselves hoarse, and I'm so incredibly grateful for every silly second.

I came to a realization this year that I feel compelled to share here, for whomsoever may need it: Avoiding fear, sadness or anger is not the same thing as being happy. I live my sadness every day, but I don't resent it anymore. Instead, I do it now so that the wonderful moments of joy I do find are not in order to forget, but to inhabit and enjoy for their own sake. It's not easy. In fact, I'd say it takes much more effort to consciously do than it does to just stay sad, but with all my heart, I cannot tell you how worth it it is.

And for those suffering from depression, I know how dark and endless that tunnel can feel, but if happiness seems impossible to find, please hold on to the possibility of hope, faint though it may be. Because I promise you, there're enough nights under the same yellow moon for all of us to share, no matter how or when you find your way there."

While Robin Williams was undoubtedly proud of his only daughter, I imagine he'd be especially pleased to see the work she's been doing lately.

Last October Zelda Williams took to Twitter to talk about and fight stigma surrounding mental illness. A look at a few of her tweets on the subject:

You can count my family among the many who've dealt with depression already, and I fear we haven't seen the last of it. There's something suffocating about the idea my children will someday lose sight of the all the light in life, and I hope fervently the work being done to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness and seeking help will have made great strides before they're struggling.

That'll only happen, of course, if we keep talking about it and work to create the change. Kudos to Zelda for honoring her father in this way.

Busy Philipps says "Sorry, not sorry" on behalf of her daughter

Busy Philipps may be a part of the celebrity crowd, but she doesn't believe in going overboard when it comes to her kids. The actress, who is mom to 7-year-old daughter Birdie Leigh and 2-year-old daughter Cricket Pearl, is happy to let her girls take the lead when it comes to figuring out their own style.

“We go to Target, we go to Gap Kids, they wear sneakers. I don’t subscribe to that belief at all,” the Cougar Town star told reporters at a recent event when asked about expensive kid clothes.

“I let [Birdie] dress herself. She should be making her own choices. She should get up in the morning and get herself dressed. Sorry, not sorry.”

"The time for magical dressing is when I think they’re in preschool, like 4 or 5 years old … they get really specific ideas," Busy Philipps went on to share. "Both my girls love putting on my high heels and walking around. It’s really cute."

I have to agree, and have a few great photos of my kids wearing all of their favorites at once as evidence. Who says a magician hat, superhero cape and fuzzy slippers don't go together? No one we're listening to, that's for sure.

We also took the approach of letting our kids choose their clothes (as well as buying them on the cheap), but now that my kids are big they wear school uniforms most days. They're not very fond of the plain polo shirts and slacks, and often complain about having their choices taken away. On the one hand I can appreciate what they're saying, but on the other I can't deny there's also something about the simplicity of uniforms that's very easy for a parent to love.

Are Pink and I just too old for the MTV VMAs?

Is Pink feeling a little crotchety these days? It's being reported the 35-year-old singer lashed out at younger stars via a secret account, bluntly sharing how disappointed she is by their music.

The post she supposedly wrote about the 2015 MTV VMAs reads:

"I felt embarrassed and sad. And old. We’re getting old. But in all seriousness; I felt sad because music is supposed to inspire. It saved my life. This trash won’t save any kids life. In a world that is even scarier and with lives still worth saving, who will stand up and have soul? Disenfranchised to say the least. Let down by my industry peers.

Beside Macklemore and phar. and bieber (pre-sob fest) and the weekend, Tori Kelly was dope too. The rest was gross and embarrassing and hard for this aging pop star to believe."

After multiple outlets picked up the story the mother of Willow Hart took to her official Twitter account to try and clear the air. In quick succession Pink wrote:

I'm no social media sleuth, so I won't even pretend to know if the initial message really came from Pink or not, but I am interested in what it said. You see, I both agree and disagree with what was written.

The truth is I do feel kind of old lately, at the ripe age of 34. I really have aged out of the MTV demographic. Funny things are happening, like stars who I've never even heard of are doing big interviews, and slang words I don't have a clue about are being used. I can barely tell a Zendaya from an Azalea -- and this fact both amuses me and gives me a tiny speck of pride. Pink and I are getting O-L-D!

But the difference between my feelings and the words in that first message is that I'm not mad about it.

I've never been a fan of older generations looking down at the younger ones and tsking away. I detested it when I was the young person, outright resented the implication my people were the ones who were steering the world straight to hell, and have made a point not to look at people younger than me in that way.

Music is meant to inspire, but it's also meant to entertain. It's been vapid and even nonsensical dating back to "MmmBop" (1997), and "The Name Game" (the 1964 name-rhyming "banana-fama" gem). And let's not forget Voltaire, who lived from 1694 to 1778, is credited by many as saying "Anything too stupid to be said is sung" (or, at the very least, a version of that sentiment).

To put it simply, stupid music is nothing new. I may not care for it, but I'm not going to waste my time being upset about it. Rather than waggling a finger at the young folk I'm looking ahead and thinking about what I can do to make this world we've got just a little bit better. And my cane. I plan to have a great cane.

What did Benedict Cumberbatch name his son?

Almost three months after actor Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter welcomed their baby boy - who has until now been known as "Cumberbaby" - their baby name pick has finally been revealed.

With a name like Benedict Cumberbatch, you might think that the Imitation Game star would be inclined to give a similarly unique moniker to his son. As it turns out, though, their choice is actually quite "normal" - particularly by Hollywood standards!

Drumroll, please...

Carlton is a family name that's shared by Benedict - whose full name is Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch - and his father. Some media outlets are reporting that Christopher was inspired by a character that the British-born actor played in a 2012 TV miniseries called Parade's End.

In any case, Benedict, 39, seemed determined not to saddle his son with a name as cumbersome as his own.

Responding to speculation that "Benedict Cumberbatch" was a stage name, he said, “When people started suggesting I’d made it up, I was like, ‘Well thank you for crediting me with that much imagination. I don’t think I could possibly make up a name as stupid as the one I was born with.'”

Congratulations again to Benedict and Sophie on the arrival of Christopher Carleton Cumberbatch! What do you think of their baby name pick?
