Crazy bed of nails dare reveals Sara Gilbert's pregnancy

Sara Gilbert's 2014 pregnancy news has been forced out into the public by a crazy round of 'Facing Your Fears' dares the hosts of The Talk are taking on.

On Tuesday's episode the 39-year-old actress had the perfect reason to opt out of climbing onto a bed of nails, being covered by a second bed of nails, and then having a cinder blocked smashed by a sledgehammer on her midsection. (Who comes up with this stuff?)

You know how sometimes it seems like everything on TV is staged? This is pretty much the opposite of that. Take a look:

"I really do believe in facing your fears and doing things that make you uncomfortable, but I actually can't do the dare because I'm pregnant," Sara Gilbert explained while fighting back tears. Then all hell broke loose with The Talk ladies offering her congratulatory hugs -- including a bear-hug from Aisha Tyler who just recently opened up about her decision not to continue with infertility treatments.

Sara Gilbert went to share she feels "really good" after overcoming tiredness in her early weeks of pregnancy. The baby will be her first with wife Linda Perry (known to many as the lead singer of 4 Non Blondes), whom Sara wed this past March. She's also mom to a 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter from her previous marriage to Ali Adler.

Kate Middleton pregnant with royal baby two: See her bump!

Kate Middleton's 2014 pregnancy is officially underway! Word broke early Monday morning the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are expecting a royal sibling for 1-year-old Prince George.

The latest photos of the famous mum show she made a small attempt to delay royal baby fever round 2.0 by holding a small clutch right over her midsection during a recent outing. Take a look at the 32-year-old beauty during a visit to the 'Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red' by Paul Cummins at the Tower of London from August 5:

Despite looking the picture of health, Kate Middleton is once again suffering pregnancy complications. The official statement from Kensington Palace explains:

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.

As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."

Though rumors Kate is pregnant began in July, there's no official word yet on when royal baby two's due date is.

If you're looking for a hot trend on the red carpet these days, the baby bump just might be it.

In case you haven't noticed, there's a Hollywood baby boom going on! Alyssa Milano, Scarlett Johansson, Christina Ricci, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and Stacy Keibler are among the many happy new Hollywood mamas, and there are still plenty of expectant stars anxiously awaiting baby day.

These ladies aren't letting pregnancy slow them down, though. They've been busy hitting the red carpet - and showing off their spotlight-stealing maternity style. Here is a peek at some of the more memorable looks we've seen recently...

While I usually admire Kristen Bell's cool style, I'm not wild about this look. Maybe it's just my love of a little black dress, but I think Susan Downey looks particularly amazing.

Pete Wentz talks birth: "It's like shooting out a water slide"

Pete Wentz has literally been a hands-on dad since son Saint Laszlo took his first breath.

"Our doctor, she's so sweet, and she was like, 'You're going to deliver this baby,'" he explained to People while opening up about assisting girlfriend Meagan Camper with giving birth. "I was like, 'What? I just want to say I might not be qualified to do this.'"

"I'm like, 'Take a picture of me! This is the closest I'll be to being a doctor,'" he added with a laugh

"I pulled the baby out," the 35-year-old Fall Out Boy bassist continued. "It was the most magical moment and then I was like, ‘Don’t drop the baby.'

"[Babies are] very slippery … it’s like shooting out a water slide after they come out. But it was magical really, and that sounds so crazy to say, but it was."

Regarding Saint's somewhat unusual name, Pete Wentz recently tweeted:

I mean he is a Saint because he waited until tour was done to show up. He waited for dad to come home & we didn't have to cancel any shows.

As for what's new with his firstborn son, Bronx, the proud dad shared a message many of us can relate to this time of year:

My own husband was right by my side during the births of our two sons, holding one of my legs and taking the occasional peek at the progress, but wasn't invited to takeover for the doctor at any paint. I'm not sure he would have, even if the offer had been made because even just cutting the cord weirded him out a bit, but what an amazing experience for Pete Wentz to have had!

Alyssa Milano has a girl! Find out her baby name mash-up

Congratulations go out to Alyssa Milano and her husband Dave Bugliari! The couple, who are already parents to 3-year-old son Milo, welcomed a baby girl named Elizabella Dylan Bugliari on Thursday, September 4.

A rep for the 41-year-old Mistresses star says that both mom and baby, who was born weighing 7lbs 7oz and measuring 19.5 inches long, are "doing wonderfully."

Elizabella. It sounds a bit like a baby name mash-up, a combination of Eliza and Bella, or Elizabeth and Isabella. I love all of those names on their own, but put together it's a bit of a mouthful. On the bright side, there are no shortage of adorable nicknames to choose from!

Alyssa, who predicted that baby #2 would be a girl long before an ultrasound confirmed the news, recently revealed that she had no interest at all in how many pregnancy pounds she'd put on.

“We don’t get hungry when we’re pregnant for no reason,” she told Fit Pregnancy . “You’re making a skeletal system. You’re making organs. I refuse to look at the scale. I didn’t look at the scale with Milo until the day I gave birth. It’s funny, my file was open at my appointment yesterday and there was a big Post-it note that said, ‘She does not want to know her weight.’”

That sounds like a great philosophy to me!

Childbirth in one word: Beautiful? Miraculous? Violent?

Describe childbirth in a single word.

Miraculous? Powerful? Painful? Those might be a few that come immediately to mind, and all of them are unquestionably true. But here's another descriptor that may seem a bit more surprising: Violent.

Luc Besson is the director behind mom-to-be Scarlett Johannson's latest film 'Lucy,' which includes some incredibly chilling and graphic scenes. In an interview with GQ magazine, though, the father-of-five explains why no experience could be as violent as childbirth.

"...the most violent thing I've seen in my life is the birth of a baby, you go from liquid, dark with no pressure, no weight, to air, light and weight and it's so violent to watch, it's a wonderful moment, but f*** - the women is screaming, the baby is totally contracted, there's blood everywhere, so we start and enter this world by violence."

In a way I can see his point. Giving birth is messy and uncensored, and god knows it hurts like hell. Having been through it twice, though, I would never think to call it violent.

In my mind, violence implies something entirely unpleasant, an action that is intended to hurt or kill. If that is the working definition, then childbirth seems almost its exact opposite. Delivering a baby is difficult, it can be overwhelming and, yes, bloody, but it's also such a hopeful, positive and empowering act.

If I had to describe childbirth in just one word, that would be my choice: Empowering. I've never felt as strong and capable as I did on the days that I gave birth to my two girls.

"Whoa!" Nicole Kidman opens up about giving birth

Nicole Kidman is nearly at a loss for words when it comes to describing giving birth to daughter Sunday Rose Urban.

The actress, who became mom to two kids through adoption, gave birth to her third and welcomed a fourth via surrogate, has tried to sum up the experience by telling The Edit , "Giving birth is just whoa!"

Elaborating on what she does recall, the wife of country singer Keith Urban continued, "What I remember the most is the cry. When the baby is born, the cry penetrates on such a deep level and Keith says that too. He goes, 'What about that cry!' And we actually did record our birth. So we've heard it back. And every time it jolts me back into the moment."

Opening up about their relationship, Nicole Kidman explained her husband gave her a shout-out from the stage for their anniversary.

She shared, "[Keith said] 'Eight years, baby girl. This song is for you. I love you so much.' I had two girlfriends sitting with me [at the concert] and they were like, 'Bitch!' I went, 'Hey! I've been to hell and back!'"

Though she's now happily married, there is a downside to the pair not finding each other until their late 30s.

Nicole explained Keith tells her: "We're lucky we met late in life. The sadness of that is we can't have six kids together, but the greatness of that is [we are done] with all the other stuff, so now we are totally present for this." She added: "That's a great thing to hear from a man."

I don't particularly remember my own to kids' first cries, but I did recently have the experience of being jolted back to the labor and delivery wing when my father started having heart trouble. While rushing to the hospital to meet up with the ambulance, giving birth was the farthest thing from my mind, but the second I set foot inside those sterile doors the scent hit me.

Not a bad scent, mind you, but a very hospital smell. I can't even aptly described what it was (hand sanitizer with a hint of bleached bed linens?), but my mind was immediately taken back to the times I was the patient, counting away the hours and contractions while in labor. Given the wide range of memories a hospital has the potential to impart, I kind of hope I'll always associate them with just a wee babe.
