It's official!

It wasn't exactly a well-kept secret, but Justin Timberlake took to Instagram today to finally confirm some very big news: He and Jessica Biel have a baby on the way!

"Thank you EVERYONE for the Bday wishes! This year, I'm getting the GREATEST GIFT EVER. CAN'T WAIT. #BoyOrGirl #YouNeverKnow #WeDontEvenKnow #WeAreTakingBets," the singer, who turns 34 years old today, captioned what just might be the sweetest pregnancy announcement ever.

The photo, taken against a snowy backdrop, shows Justin planting a kiss on Jessica's very rounded bare belly. See it here!

Adorable, right? By the looks of it, they don't have too much longer to wait!

Though Justin and Jessica, who tied the knot in 2012, have until now remained tight-lipped about the pregnancy, others have been happy to do the talking for them. In the fall, Justin's former NSYNC boy band-mate Joey Fatone gushed, “[Justin] told me a while ago, and I kept my mouth shut. But now I can talk about it! Jessica is awesome, and Justin is a kid at heart. [They’ll have] fun."

With motherhood just around the corner, Jessica, 31, expanding her horizons on the career front, too, opening a family-friendly and ultra exclusive eatery in Santa Monica. The restaurant, called Au Fudge, is said to be "a place where A-listers would feel comfortable bringing their kids to dine and take part in cooking activities.”

I have a feeling I'll be waiting a while for my invite.

Congratulations - officially - to Justin and Jessica on the baby news!

Jaime King is sick of all the 'mommy judging'

by

Carolyn Robertson

posted in Celebrities

Jaime King has a message for all you moms out there: The judgment and criticism have got to stop!

The 'Hart of Dixie' star, who overcame years of infertility to have her son James Knight in 2013, says motherhood is "hard enough" without everyone telling you you're doing it all wrong.

“There is so much mommy judging and so many rules and regulations. ‘You have to breastfeed‘ or ‘If you formula feed, you’re bad,’” she tells PEOPLE. “There are so many labels now of what you should or shouldn’t do and I think that is really harmful to mothers.”

Like many first-time moms, it sounds like Jaime struggled with the transition to motherhood: “Birthing a child and caring for a child is already difficult in itself,” the 35-year-old star points out. “Women think that what they’re going through on the inside isn’t supposed to exist anymore, but that’s just not true. We’re just women, doing the best that we can with what we know and what we have.”

These famous moms have felt judged for their parenting decisions...

When I became a mom I guess I thought I'd be joining some secret club, a tight-knit community of women supporting each other, celebrating milestones and commiserating when things don't go according to plan. To some extent I did find that here at BabyCenter. What I didn't expect, though, was the judgment that comes with motherhood. I didn't realize that everyone would have an opinion on how I feed my baby, how I put her to sleep, which way her car seat faces on a drive down to the store.

Jaime's advice to new moms is to stay away from the folks who are casting judgment - “For God’s sake, don’t go on chats on the Internet and compare your parenting skills to someone else,” she says - and instead surround yourself with people who love and support you.

“It doesn’t have to be other mothers,” she says. “Don’t judge yourself if you aren’t taking your kid to a baby class every day and don’t judge yourself if you have a bunch of best friends who aren’t parents. Just find people that love and support you so that you can support yourself and your child.”

Have you ever felt judged for your parenting choices?

Ryan Reynolds just perfectly described life with a newborn

by

Carolyn Robertson

Three weeks into fatherhood, Ryan Reynolds isn't shy about rolling up his sleeves and diving into daddy duty.

Speaking to the media for the first time since he and his wife Blake Lively welcomed their baby girl in late December, the Green Lantern star joked, “I gotta jump in and do all those sorts of things. I mean, I’ve even tried breastfeeding.”

So... how'd that go? About as you'd expect.

“It’s frustrating for the baby and frankly disturbing for me," Ryan tells PEOPLE. "Not well is the answer.”

On a slightly more serious note, the former holder of the Sexiest Man Alive title managed to sum up parenthood pretty perfectly in just a few words.

rexusa_2463096al

“It’s amazing that you can be that exhausted and that happy at the same time,” he explained.

Yes, I think he pretty much nailed it. That very apt description seems to be just about universal. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes on motherhood, by one of my favorite famous moms, Tina Fey: "Being a mom has made me so happy. And so tired."

Tired and happy. Exhausted and overjoyed. I can't help but think of all those times I've been called to my daughters rooms in the middle of the night, dragged out of sleep to find a lost lovey or reassure them after a bad dream. All I want to do is crawl back under the covers, but then there's that tiny part of me that loves sitting with them in the dark, all warm and sleepy.

Kids, right? It's a good thing we love them so much.

Steal Kate's style: 8 picture perfect maternity trends

by

Carolyn Robertson

posted in Celebrities

Let's face it, maternity clothes aren't always all that flattering. The pants don't fit, the tops ride up, the dresses hang off of your rounded belly like a massive, shapeless tent. As any mom-to-be knows, finding chic, comfortable clothes while pregnant isn't easy.

One expectant mom seems to have mastered maternity style, though. Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is now six months into her second pregnancy and continues to wow us, putting in one fabulously fashionable public appearance after another. From her favorite flared coats to her pretty pastels, the 33-year-old royal makes dressing her bump look easy.

Kate tends to pick from a mix of off-the-rack items and pricier custom designer pieces, but looking perfectly put together doesn't need to cost a fortune.

Let's try to steal a few tips from the soon-to-be mom-of-two's trend-setting maternity style...

I'm not exactly a fashion icon, but I'm pretty sure I could copy a few of those outfit ideas. I think the key about Kate is that she sticks with what works, but she's not afraid to have a little fun with pops of bright color and eye-catching accessories.

Of course, dressing a cute little second trimester bump is one thing, but a third trimester bump? That's a whole different story. By the time those last couple of weeks rolled around it was hard to get me to ditch my yoga pants and stretchy Ts!

Did you have fun dressing your bump, or was it an impossible task?

Who was voted the best dressed mom-to-be? (Hint: it's NOT Kate!)

by

Carolyn Robertson

posted in Celebrities

With all eyes in the fashion world on the Duchess of Cambridge during her second pregnancy, another British-born mom-to-be has been quietly putting in some stunning red carpet appearances, too.

This actress hasn't managed to go completely under the radar, however. A recent poll by My1stYears.com asked over 600 moms which UK celebrity is having the best-dressed pregnancy. Surprisingly, it wasn't Kate who ended up on top in the style survey. It was Keira Knightley!

Having received critical acclaim - and several nomations - for her role in The Imitation Game, the 29-year-old has been very busy making the rounds this award season, most recently attending last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

Take a look at the gorgeous plum-colored gown she chose for the SAGs, along with a few more of her most memorable maternity looks so far.

It seems that folks across the pond have been taking notice of Keira's fashion-forward pregnancy style. She beat Duchess Kate in the British style survey by 6%.

Though Keira stayed mum on the pregnancy speculation for many months, a rep did finally confirm the happy news last month that she and her husband James Righton are expecting their first child. It's rumored that the baby on the way is due in May - not too long after Kate and William are expecting their second child.

Keira officially broke her silence on her pregnancy at last night's awards show, joking, "I can kinda go, 'Well, I’m pregnant so my shoes have to come off,’ and nobody is allowed to say anything! So that's quite nice."

She seems to be having fun dressing her growing bump, experimenting with different colors and silhouettes. Keira's pregnancy style probably isn't one that I would copy - then again, I don't see many red carpets in my future - but I think she looks absolutely beautiful.

Do you think Keira deserves the title of best dressed mom-to-be?

Captain America vs Star-Lord: Best superbowl bet ever

by

The stakes in the upcoming Superbowl just got a whole lot higher.

Two famous fans in particular will be glued to the big game when the Seattle Seahawks meet the New England Patriots on February 1. Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt, who hails from Seattle, and Captain America's Chris Evans, a Pats fan, took to Twitter this week for a little pre-game trash talk.

By the time the pair signed off they'd placed a very public bet on the game. The stakes? Not money. Something much, much better.

Actress Jaime King gets real about her infertility struggle

by

Carolyn Robertson

posted in Celebrities

These days actress Jaime King is a busy working mom to her 15-month-old son James Knight, but there was a time not too long ago when her hopes of having a child seemed almost impossible.

Diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome and endometriosis, the Hart of Dixie star had endured 5 miscarriages, 5 rounds of in vitro fertilization and 26 rounds of intrauterine insemination when she got the shocking news that she was pregnant. After trying for over 4 years to have a baby, it seemed like a miracle when Jaime and her husband Kyle Newman learned they had conceived naturally.

“When I got pregnant it was the best thing in the whole world. I had never felt so grateful, happy and elated,” the 35-year-old actress tells PEOPLE. The pregnancy may have been a dream come true, but it wasn't an easy one. She went into early labor due to preeclampsia and went through 26 hours of "brutal labor" before little James was born in October 2013.

When her son celebrated his first birthday this past October, Jaime marked the occasion by getting a tattoo in honor of her little family, a sword bearing the word "Knight," along with “Praying hands because we prayed for years to conceive a child [and] the stars mean that he came from the heavens blessing us with a miracle," she wrote on Instagram.

Though her path to motherhood was a difficult one, both emotionally and physically, Jaime says she feels a responsibility to tell her story: “I was hiding what I was going through for so long, and I hear about so many women going through what I went through," the 35-year-old tells PEOPLE. "If I’m open about it, hopefully it won’t be so taboo to talk about it."

As for baby #2, Jaime says that she and her husband hope that James will one day be a big brother, but adds, “I don’t know what the future holds. “All I know is I can’t control it, and I’m okay with that.”

I'm sure it's not an easy thing to talk about, but I really commend Jaime King for being so upfront and honest about her struggle to conceive. It's something that so many women and families go through. It may not ease their burden, but I think it always helps to know you're not alone.

The question everyone's asking about Duchess Kate's bump

by

Carolyn Robertson

posted in Celebrities

The Duchess of Cambridge is starting 2015 off on the right foot - or should we say the right pair of heels?

The expectant mom put in her first official appearances of the year this week, visiting London's Barlby School for the launch of its new Clore Art Room on Thursday, and the next day meeting with staff and families at The Fostering Network, an organization dedicated to helping the 63,000 children in foster care across the UK.

As always, Kate stepped out in style, choosing a navy Madderson London shift dress with cute tweed detailing on Thursday and then recycling a favorite $75 Hobbs silk shirt dress on Friday. She finished off both chic looks with loose, perfectly coiffed tresses and simple black suede heels.

The Duchess' outfits are always a topic of conversation, but this time it's something else that really has people talking: Her bump. Or, perhaps, her lack of one. At 6 months along, Kate is starting to show, but it seems she's not showing quite enough for some.

PEOPLE has given Prince George's mom the award for the 'Most Discreet Baby Bump' of all time, while a Yahoo! headline asks, "Where is Kate Middleton's Bump?"

"Seriously, I was nervous for her first pregnancy and I’m nervous this time around too (perhaps not so much). She is so skinny that I’m always worried she’s not eating enough or the baby isn’t getting enough nutrients," admits one concerned PEOPLE reader. "But seeing as how she has the best care in the world at her finger tips and Georgie came out precious as a lamb, I’m sure this one will go without a hitch as well."

Tabloid chatter usually focuses on celebrity moms gaining too much weight - who could forget all of the awful attention paid to Kim Kardashian and Jessica Simpson's pregnancy curves? - not too little. But is any criticism of a mom-to-be's body necessary, or acceptable?

Take a look around a maternity ward waiting room and you'll quickly realize that all pregnant bodies do not look alike. I gained 30 pounds during my first pregnancy, but barely more than 20 during my second - despite the fact that my nutrition and exercise habits were pretty much identical. Seeing as I'm almost 6 feet tall, 20 pounds didn't make much of an impression on my body. Both babies came out healthy and at normal weights: 7lbs 11oz and 6lbs 9oz.

At 5' 9", Kate is also fairly tall and has a slim build to begin with. She also opts for outfits that don't cling to her shape. Add to that the fact that she suffered horrible sickness for the first many months of her pregnancies and it's not all that surprising that her belly isn't looking too big just yet.

Did you have a big pregnancy bump? Or a "discreet" one, like Kate?

See Rosamund Pike's daring post-baby Golden Globes gown

by

posted in Celebrities

Actress Rosamund Pike faced a style dilemma in the lead-up to last night's Golden Globe Awards: What do you wear to a posh red carpet event a mere 5 weeks after giving birth?

Assuming that yoga pants and a bathrobe are considered a fashion faux pas in Hollywood circles, I'd probably go heavy on the Spanx and ruching and hope for the best.

Rosamund, who was nominated for her role in Gone Girl, took a very different, very bold approach to her post-baby debut, opting for a daring, cut-out gown by designer Alexander Wang that left little to the imagination.

The 35-year-old British beauty welcomed her second child in December, a baby brother for her 2-year-old son Solo. Though the boy's name is not yet known, it's been reported that Rosamund delivered him at home.

The family's newest arrival didn't join her on the red carpet, but the stunning mom did reveal that he wasn't too far away, saying, “He’s up there in a suite at the Hilton. You’ll probably see him looking out the window. I’ll be running off after the carpet to go and give him his lunch.”

While her eye-catching gown hasn't made many of today's best-dressed lists, Rosamund says that her son seemed to like it: “He was looking at me getting ready. He didn’t cry; he seemed to approve.”

From Tina and Amy to Reese and Kerry, here's a look at some other fashion hits - and misses - from last night's show...

Did Beyoncé just post a pregnancy announcement?

by

Carolyn Robertson

posted in Celebrities

Is Beyoncé trying to tell us something?

The 'Drunk in Lover' singer's latest Instagram photo has sparked a frenzy of speculation that she's pregnant! The picture shows the 33-year-old reclining on a beach, smiling and buried to her neck in sand. The part that has everyone talking, though, is the sand sculpture's apparent baby bump.

So is this the Grammy-winner's way of telling us that she and her husband Jay-Z are expecting a baby brother or sister for their 3-year-old daughter Blue Ivy? Take a look and see what you think!

If this is a pregnancy announcement, it's a pretty cryptic one. You may recall that when Beyoncé was pregnant with baby Blue, she also let her bump do the talking by debuting it on the red carpet of the 2011 MTV Video Awards. That time, though, there was no mistaking that she was definitely pregnant!

A look through some of the 29,000 and counting comments shows the jury is still out. "Beyoncé is not pregnant! Y'all need to stop!" writes one fan. "Preggers for sure," concludes another.

Personally, I'm not convinced. If I was going to share pregnancy news with the world, I'd want to make it crystal clear rather than leave everyone wondering. Then again, I'm not an insanely popular, social media savvy superstar. And I must admit, that wine-hued dress above does seem well-suited to disguise a tiny bump.

One thing's for sure: Another baby is definitely part of the plan for the music's reigning power couple. "I think my daughter needs some company," Beyoncé said in 2013. "I definitely love being a big sister.... At some point when it's supposed to happen."

I guess we'll have to wait and see if this really is a pregnancy announcement...or just a bumpy sand sculpture.

What do you think? Is Beyoncé pregnant?

Kourtney Kardashian's 'life changing' postpartum secret

by

Carolyn Robertson

posted in Celebrities

Three weeks after welcoming baby Reign Aston, the transition to life as a busy mom-of-three seems to be going fairly smoothly for reality star Kourtney Kardashian. So what's her secret? Is it a full-time nanny? A personal meditation guru? An on-demand chef? According to Kourtney's latest Instagram post, her 'life changing' post-baby solution is a lot simpler than that.

It's placenta pills.

The 35-year-old, who is also mom to 5-year-old Mason and 2-year-old Penelope, posted a photo of the pills to Instagram, along with the caption, "Yummy...PLACENTA pills! No joke...I will be sad when my placenta pills run out. They are life changing! #benefits #lookitup."

Interestingly, Kourtney isn't the only famous mama to tote the benefits of placenta ingestion this week. Putting in a red carpet appearance at the Girls premiere on Monday night, actress Gaby Hoffmann said that placenta smoothies were key to her post-baby recovery, too.

“Placenta, placenta, placenta. Just eat that sh*t up, and it does a girl good!” Gaby, who welcomed daughter Rosemary in November, told PEOPLE. “I made smoothies out of it for three weeks. I had a home birth, so my midwife and my doula took it and cut it up into 20 pieces and froze it, and every day, I put it in a blender with strawberries and blueberries and guava juice and a banana, and I drank that sh*t up.”

Now, placenta pills are one thing - having suffered a pretty traumatic postpartum period, I really wish I had given encapsulation a try. Smoothies, though? Or stews or tacos? I'm not sure if I'm ready for that. Gaby insists there's really no "ick" factor, though: “You don’t taste [it],” she says.

What do you think? Would you be interested in placenta pills? How about smoothies, soups or other edibles?

Gross or a Godsend? These celebs have shared their thoughts on the placenta, too:

Kristen Bell "just knew" their baby name pick was right

by

Sara McGinnis

posted in Celebrities

Go right ahead and call me jealous of Kristen Bell today. Not because she's witty, adorable, and married to the comical Dax Shepard, but because she's found it easy to choose her kids' names.

"I believe it's our first [carpet since giving birth]," the mother of Lincoln and Delta remarked to E! News at Wednesday night's People's Choice Awards. "I'm in a sleepy, sleepy daze so I'm not positive where I am right now."

Chiming in on having welcomed their second daughter three weeks ago the actor added, "In theory it gets easier because you go through the rough time at once and then it's on auto-pilot. That's what we've been told and we're counting on it."

We? Clarifying, Kristen interjected: "It's the same amount of work because it's another baby."

Kristen Bell name Delta

Although she may not agree with Dax on that one point, Kristen Bell gives him all the credit for coming up with their girls' unique names.

"It's Dax. He keeps picking these awesome names," she went on to explain. "He threw Delta out there and we just knew."

The envy! Oh, how I wish I'd known with such certainty what my kids should be called.

In actuality, our boys got their names through a long process of one parent tossing out 'How about ____ ?' and the other replying, 'Meh. It's OK, I guess.' We poured over hefty baby name books but not a single thing sparked the coveted 'that's it!' feeling. In the end we like the names we ended up choosing alright, but I wish we'd had that zing moment and felt absolutely sure of our picks.

Did you 'just know' what your kids' names should be, or was it a struggle to pick?
